This webpage is created for better accessibility to the current version of the Particle Physics Concept Inventory, which is still under development.
The PPCI should measure the general knowledge and conceptual understanding of particle and nuclear physics. Its primary targets are gifted upper secondary school students (ISCED 3) interested in physics and university students (ISCED 6-7) studying physics.
You are invited to use these files under the following conditions:
- Do not share the information about this site and the files with your students. Do not leave them the assignment to copy it.
- You may give the respondents some partial credit for completion of the test. However, the credit has to be independent on the students‘ score in the test (it has to be only for the attendance).
- Preferably, do not even tell your students, which answers they answered (in)correctly. Definitely, do not do that after the pre-test if you plan to administer the post-test.
- Ideally, change the name of the test. We can help you to prepare the file for you.
- Try not to be influenced by the test contents: Do not change your lectures to cover precisely these kinds of questions.
We would welcome your anonymised results. We welcome notice about any possible errors of the PPCI. We are open for suggestions for improvements, especially since the test is still under development. Contact us please through mail karel@fykos.cz

English version of the correct answers with commentary is not yet available in English. The key can be found in the following files.
You are welcome to use our tool for calculating some basic statistics (Excel file XLSX). An example filled with pseudorandomly generated data is here.
We recommend the ShinyItemAnalysis for statistical analysis (Martinková, Drabinová et al.). The key prepared in the format for upload is available here.

Česká verze
Tato webová stránka je vytvořená pro snadnější dostupnost aktuální verze konceptuálního testu z oblasti částicové a jaderné fyziky, který je stále ve vývoji.
Tento test by měl měřit obecné konceptuální znalosti z oblasti částicové a jaderné fyziky. Primárně je určen pro talentované středoškoláky se zájmem o fyziku a vysokoškoláky studující fyziku.
Jste vítáni k využití testu za následujících podmínek:
- Nesdílejte informaci o této stránce a soubory na ní umístěné se svými studenty. Nenechávejte je okopírovat si zadání.
- Můžete dát studentům např. nějaké body k zápočtu za vyplnění testu. Počet bodů ale nesmí záviset na tom, jak dobře test vyplnili (musí být pouze za samotné vyplnění).
- Raději ani neříkejte, které otázky zodpověděli (ne)správně. Rozhodně jim to neříkejte, pokud jde o pre-test a plánujete i post-test.
- Ideálně, změňte název testu. Můžeme vám pomoci připravit soubor přímo pro Vás.
- Pokuste se být neovlivnění složením testu. Neměňte svoje přednášky jen aby pokryly přesně tyto typy otázek.
Uvítali bychom Vaše anonymizované výsledky. Uvítáme zprávu o jakýchkoliv chybách v testu. Jsme otevřeni návrhům na vylepšení. Obzvláště vzhledem k tomu, že je test stále ve vývoji. Kontaktujte mě, prosím, e-mailem na karel@fykos.cz
